About the event

For the first in a series of one-night-only dinners at the Clos de Caveau this summer celebrating 50 years of our family-run domaine, take a seat at our table for a Filipino feast in the Vines, presented by Filipino-British guest chef Maria Garbutt-Lucero, designed to showcase the wines of the Clos.

For a unique dinner, Maria has designed a sharing feast of Filipino classics with contemporary twists, drawing on local, seasonal produce from the Vaucluse and the best of artisanal Philippine ingredients.

Salty, sour and sweet, Filipino cookery combines influences from Spain, China, South America and Malaysia, and its punchy, deep flavours pair beautifully with the characterful wines of the domaine. Excitingly, Maria’s dinner will be the first outing for the Clos’ 50th birthday skin-contact cuvée.

Maria Garbutt-Lucero and her Filipino-rooted cooking

A home cook with a zeal for hosting, Maria Garbutt-Lucero launched the pop-up Supper Club Baboy Club in London in 2018 as a way to reconnect with her Filipino roots by sharing her favourite dishes from her childhood in Manila.

Having won the Yan-Kit So Award for Food Writing on Asia, Maria has staged at the Michelin-starred restaurants Ikoyi in London and Toyo Eatery in Manila. She has appeared on BBC1 Masterchef in the UK, with her work featured at the Museum of London, in ELLE, TimeOut, and Refinery29.

Places at the dinner are limited to 30. Guests are invited to a detailed tasting at 6pm in advance of the dinner (7pm). Your ticket includes the tasting, a welcome aperitif and amuse-bouches followed by the dinner in three courses with Clos de Caveau wine pairings.

Please note, our menu is set in advance, and we cannot guarantee substitutions for dietary restrictions. Meat and vegetarian dishes will be served. For any further details, allergen information, or transport and accommodation queries, do not hesitate to get in touch with harry@closdecaveau.com
